The top is solid Engelmann spruce over solid mahogany back and sides, which gives a warm, sweet and balanced tone. Ebony binding, a 5mm abalone rosette and a gloss top over satin back and sides finish it off. Hand-scalloped quarter-sawn spruce bracing follows the Patrick James Eggle X-brace design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe satin-finished mahogany neck has a bolt-on joint, a two-way truss rod, and a Macassan figured ebony fingerboard with a mother-of-pearl \"F\" at the 12th fret.
