Gibson Guitars

Authorized Gibson dealer

Gibson has been making instruments since 1894, when it started in Kalamazoo, Michigan; today the company is based in Nashville, Tennessee. It's the name behind the Les Paul, the SG and the J-45. We get a lot of Gibson's limited runs and exclusives, and the ones in the store now are at the top of this page. Every in-stock Gibson here is in our Peterborough store, and each guitar is inspected and set up by our tech before it ships.

4.7 from 387 Google reviews(as of September 2026, Google Maps)

I recently purchased a guitar from Maar's Music and I can honestly say it was one of the best customer experiences I've ever had.

I love the guitar, but honestly, the experience left such a lasting impression that I'm already looking for an excuse to buy another one. If you're in the Peterborough area and need anything music-related, do yourself a favour and visit Maar's. You won't regret it. I cannot say enough about this fantastic store.

Buying a Gibson from Maar's Music

Are you an authorized Gibson dealer?

Yes. Maar's Music is an authorized Gibson dealer, in Peterborough since 1993. New Gibsons bought from an authorized dealer come with Gibson's manufacturer's warranty for the original owner; ask us for the current Canadian terms. Used and vintage guitars are sold as described in their listings.

Can you order a specific Gibson or a limited edition?

Yes. Call (705) 876-8160, use the chat, or email sales@maarsmusic.com with the model and finish. We'll check availability with Gibson and confirm the price in CAD and the expected timing before you commit. Limited runs are made in set numbers, so we can't promise every one, but we'll tell you right away what we can get.

How do you describe used and vintage Gibsons?

Each used listing has our own photos and notes on condition. Want more photos, or want to see one in person? Call (705) 876-8160 or chat. Some guitars are kept in our storage rooms rather than on the sales floor, so call ahead and we'll have it ready. Every guitar is inspected and set up by our tech before it ships.

How much is shipping?

Orders of $298+ ship free across Canada, and that covers every Gibson guitar on this page. We ship within Canada only. Some remote delivery areas may need extra shipping charges. See our shipping policy for details.

What is your return policy?

If an item has a manufacturing flaw that makes it unusable, contact us within 7 days. Returns for any other reason are possible with return shipping paid by you and a 15% restocking fee; the item must be in “as received” condition with all original packing materials. Used and consignment items may not be returnable. Full details: refund policy.

Can I try a Gibson in the store?

Yes. Visit us at 869 Chemong Road, Unit 21, Peterborough. Call (705) 876-8160 first to make sure the guitar you want is in the store.
