Danelectro was started by Nathan Daniel in New Jersey in 1947, and its guitars, with their Lipstick pickups and lightweight hardboard-and-plywood bodies, became one of the classic sounds of the 1950s and 60s. Today's Danelectros keep that look and jangly tone, including the '59 Glitter models we carry. Every in-stock Danelectro here is in our Peterborough store and is inspected and set up by our tech before it ships.

Buying a Danelectro from Maar's Music

Are you an authorized dealer?

Yes. Maar's Music is an authorized dealer for all new products we sell. New instruments bought from an authorized dealer come with the manufacturer's warranty for the original owner; ask us for the current Canadian terms.

What makes a Danelectro sound different?

Danelectro's Lipstick single-coil pickups and semi-hollow bodies give a bright, jangly tone with plenty of twang. The '59 models have two Lipstick pickups, a master volume, master tone and a 3-way pickup selector.

Do Danelectro guitars come with a case?

The '59 Glitter models we carry don't include a case; it's sold separately. Ask us and we'll suggest one that fits.

Can you set up or repair my Danelectro?

Yes. For setups and repairs on a guitar you already own, see guitar repair or call (705) 876-8160.

How much is shipping?

Free shipping* to most major areas Canada wide from $298+. Orders $79+ under 5 kg ship free Canada wide (this excludes bulky items and electric guitars). We ship within Canada only. *Some remote delivery areas may need extra shipping charges. See our shipping policy for details.

What is your return policy?

If an item has a manufacturing flaw that makes it unusable, contact us within 7 days. Returns for any other reason are possible with return shipping paid by you and a 15% restocking fee; the item must be in “as received” condition with all original packing materials. Used and consignment items may not be returnable. Full details: refund policy.
