Schecter Guitars

Authorized Schecter dealer

Schecter Guitar Research started in 1976 as a repair and parts shop in Van Nuys, California. Today it's based in Sun Valley, California, home of its USA Custom Shop, and its artists include Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold, The Cure and Zakk Wylde. Schecter is one of our most important brands: we love the cool, unusual and downright freaky models, and we do a lot of Schecter custom and special orders. Every in-stock Schecter here is in our Peterborough store and is inspected and set up by our tech before it ships.

Weird & wonderful: signatures and oddballs

The unusual Schecters in our Peterborough store right now: artist signatures, a headless 7-string, a USA Custom Shop 50th Anniversary and more. Only in-stock guitars show here; if one sells, it drops off this row. Want something even stranger? Ask us about a custom order.

Custom & special orders

Want a Schecter we don't have? We'll order it

Custom and special orders are a big part of what we do with Schecter. Tell us the model, finish, string count and left- or right-handed, and we'll check availability with Schecter and confirm the price in CAD and the expected timing before you commit.

After a signature model, a lefty, a 7- or 8-string, or something from the USA Custom Shop? Ask us, and we'll tell you honestly what we can get.

Peterborough's oldest and best-reviewed music store, since 1993

4.7 from 387 Google reviews(as of September 2026, Google Maps)

I recently purchased a guitar from Maar's Music and I can honestly say it was one of the best customer experiences I've ever had.

I love the guitar, but honestly, the experience left such a lasting impression that I'm already looking for an excuse to buy another one. If you're in the Peterborough area and need anything music-related, do yourself a favour and visit Maar's. You won't regret it. I cannot say enough about this fantastic store.
