Faith FVEC Eclipse Venus Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Guitar, Gloss Black

The Eclipse series was designed as Faith's "stage guitar" range. These are dependable instruments that perform well night after night and look good under the lights. The FVEC puts that idea into the Venus body, an OM/auditorium-inspired shape with a 15" lower bout and a slimmer depth. It's big enough to deliver a full acoustic sound, and small enough to be comfortable on a stage or on the sofa.

The construction is spruce and mahogany, the same classic pairing as the Natural series: a solid Engelmann spruce top over solid mahogany back and sides. Unplugged, that gives a good balance of presence and full-bodied tone. The whole guitar is finished in black stain with a gloss lacquer, which keeps the resonance under a little more control. That gives a focused, predictable sound that suits playing live.

Solid flamed maple binding gives a striking contrast against the black finish. The fingerboard, bridge, headplate and heelcap are Macassan ebony. The cutaway gives easy access to the upper frets for lead work.

The Fishman INK3 preamp with a Sonicore under-saddle pickup is built for the stage. It has a chromatic tuner, 3-band EQ and volume control, and the output jack is in the easy-access battery compartment at the base of the guitar. A hard case is included.
