Faith FVHGL3 HiGloss-3 Venus Left-Handed Cutaway Electro-Acoustic Guitar

This is the left-handed version of one of Faith's best-selling guitars. Faith first offered the HiGloss Venus about 20 years ago, and it has stayed popular since. The Venus body was inspired by classic OM and auditorium shapes, with a 15" lower bout and a slimmer depth. It's comfortable to play for long stretches, and it still has enough acoustic power to fill a room.

The top is solid Engelmann spruce, and the back and sides are highly figured solid rosewood in a three-piece back. Building the back from smaller sections lets Faith's luthiers use wood that might otherwise go to waste, so less rosewood has to be harvested for each guitar. The tone stays bright and clear, with strong lows, a slightly scooped midrange and sparkling highs. That gives good string separation, which suits fingerstyle and solo playing.

Solid flamed maple binding frames the top, and striped Indonesian ebony is used for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate and heelcap. The gloss finish shows off the wood, and the cutaway gives easy access to the upper frets.

It has a low-profile Fishman INK3 preamp with a Sonicore under-saddle pickup, a chromatic tuner, 3-band EQ and volume control. The output jack is in the easy-access battery compartment at the base of the guitar. It comes with a Faith hard case.
